Hello, I'm having a problem with the Refill packer that I just can't figure out. Every time I create a refill with a Combinator, that I have made, I get this message in the Log File:

Failed validating:
Patches/Combinator Patches/DD7 A-GoGo Tropical.cmb

Packing aborted

I can successfully pack Combinator refills that I have downloaded from other people and my own non-combinator patches, does anyone know why my Combinators are invalid?

P.S. If this post is in the wrong thread, could someone please tell me where the best place to post would be.

Did you follow all the instructions and put everthing in one file and select it as the source?

Hi Peter.

It looks like you've not packed the patch A go-go tropical.. So whichever synth or device that patch is from it also needs to be packed into your refill folder.

This is a screenshot of my source folder that I am using in refill packer, i don't get any errors in the log file apart from the one in the original post. Can you see if I've done something wrong?

I have looked endlessly for walkthroughs and instructions but none have solved this problem for me so far,

Thanks for the help!

I have tried adding the patches and samples in to the refill folder and I get the same problem log, unless I'm doing it wrong.

Thanks for the help!

If This is easier to work out here's an example of a simple combinator patch with a subtractor, that still gives me the same issue in the log file.

Then it must be you have not Self Contained the samples you are using to the song you made the combinator in. Open up the song with you Combinator and then then goto
File/Self-Contain Settings. Then select all the samples you want to use in your Combinator. All the samples you are using need to be in the Refill pack folder and the song file you made
your Combinator in needs to be getting the samples it using from the Refill Packer.

Good practice when making a refill is to make a Refill Folder and in it create the folder structure you want your Refill do be like when it is opened in Reason... IE

Now as you develop you Refill you alway put all the samples in the sample folder that you are using in the Refill and so on with the rest of the folders.

I use 2 folders. One named SAMPLES - where (obviously) I put ALL samples.. Redrum, kong, nnxt the lot.

The other folder I name PATCHES - within this folder I have sub folders for the devices being used in my refill. In your case you'd have 2 sub folders named Subtractor and Combinator.

Thanks guys, I haven't checked the song self-contain files, although I did try to organise my files at the start of the project, I think Its clearly gone to chaos.

The folder structures you suggest are extremely helpful too.

The main thing here is that when you have the Samples or anything else stored outside of the folder the Refill is going to get everything to pack you will run into errors.
