View Full Version : Hello. My name is John

My name is John and I call Reading Pennsylvania, USA my home. I'm an amateur singer/songwriter. I started out using Samplitude Music Studio in 2009 and expanded to Reason in 2013 to see what it's like. It's an fascinating program. I started with version 7 and currently still with that version. I love the experimental aspect of it and would really like to get down to the "nitty gritty" of the program soon. My home is currently in the process of expanding and the expansion includes a small studio. I'm also recently retired so I will have time to really get into some detailed music making as soon as my expansion is complete in a few weeks.

My genre of choice is 60s & 70's Pop but I also experiment with Acid Rock, Jazz, Classical and Electronica.

I also use Cakewalk Sonar X3 because I like the ability to use 3rd party plugins that Reason does not allow, although I've discovered a way of getting the "best of both worlds" by simply freezing/exporting content of either program to WAVs and importing into whatever DAW I'm using for the final mix.

I've posted my first project made entirely with Reason 7 with only a laptop, interface and mic on this forum if you care to listen. Also, please feel free to listen to some of the other projects I have posted on Bandcamp. They were done using Reason and my other DAWs.

Looking forward to making some new friends here.

John B.
