I have to say I am really surprised that PH is closing their forum I have thought about why they are doing this but it's just a guess. I think they just want to not want to deal with it.

So what do you think?

Yeah, that would be my guess too... It wasn't ever super heavily moderated to begin with, then they hid it from the public. The whole forum thing has died down a lot over the years I suppose with all the social media stuff going on, but it's still always nice to have a central hub to mingle with the community. Glad you got this place going, I hope more come over!

We are just starting out and I am confident in this place.

Hey Matt, what happened with your old forum, there were more users & a lot of cool info & lot of posts?

I still have all that stuff and I am working on integrating everything. I moved over tons of stuff to LearnReason and going forward LearnReason is the Tutorial part of this Duo and Reasonforums is the community part. It's going to be big. It's a hell of a lot of work though and you have to do things step by step and as things come up you put them in the list. What i am doing here is way more then a gab, gab, la, la, talk, talk forum hangout which is what happened to the PH Forum. Good things are in the works for sure George.

I posted this as a response to Matt's original announcement out on the main page, but i think it belongs here as well.

It's funny but I think I've spent a lot more time here the last 6-8 months than at the Phead forums, but even so I'm surprised they would remove all that info. Behind all the nonsense that you often found on the PH forums was a lot of good advice and resources. I hope to see a lot of that end up over here. maybe we can get our own versions of the refills and tutorials stickies.

Propellerhead is sure an odd company. A weird combination of Apple and Google. You often don't know why they do certain things yet I think they sort of mean well (sometimes...?).

I was just wondering if Phead really wants all those trolls and smart asses on their Facebook and Google pages. That may be pretty funny!
Anyway I'm a fan of Learn Reason already so we can hope the forum takes off here and creates a good place to "Learn Reason".

Thanks

So far it looks and feels really nice. I mean it's modern and I can't believe I registered logged in and posting this message on my phone. Well done!

I was a bit surprised to see the official forums closed, but I can understand. For a software company, it's not easy to maintain user forums. There are often problems with users that don't understand why forums have to be moderated. Also, if people post negative things about the software, it looks bad on the official forums, but if they delete negative postings, users are getting pissed off. Last but not least, maintaining an official forum costs time and money.

Anyway, it would be nice if they left the old forums available in read-only mode, as a kind of knowledge base / archive.
