    Controlling synths

I play a 7 string bass through Line 6's Pod Farm to get all kinds of sounds. Is there a way to control the synths in Reason using my bass instead of a keyboard?

The only way to input midi from your Bass would be to put a midi pickup on it. Just search on Google for Midi Bass Pickups also here is a link to a page. Here is more info on it.

Thanks. I new you would have to do that if you were hooking up to an outboard synth but wondrred if somehow the software in the program could do it as well.

Reason can but you need a pickup that can interpret the signal like the Fishman TriplePlay but it's just for Guitar only. I find it hard to believe there is not anything for a Bass or that you or I can not find it?

no no no. i can use the Neptune as a CV source to control synths. its not very accurate but it does work as both a gate and pitch converter. i have the patches to share.

you kinda need to watch out as it doesn't handle the bass frequencies very well but it does work.
