You could try to filter out the subbiness if you dont need them in a sound source (due to the overtones), or if you do, do so in a parallel channel. Also turning on "wide vibrato" might help i think

Well I tried it and did some tweaking but at most it really is just more of an effect and not a note for note midi triggering a synth note which I think the OP is after. I will say it is a cool Combi though

a proper midi signal is a proper midi signal. If it doesnt work with one synth, it cant work with the other right?
But did you try extreme pitch correcting setings?SoundCloud/ Osmose-music - Facebook/ OsmoseSounds -

yeah i've played around with the correction setting on the neptune
but different synths and patches can sound drastically different(obvsly)
in relation to the thor, it has an audio in and the ability to turn audio to gate info just not pitch info.
that patch i posted earlier was possibly the 3rd attempt i've refined it a bit since then.

Ok. Dumbest of questions-I plug my bass into a Line6 Toneport which then plugs into a usb port on my laptop. Assuming I found a way to trigger the synths with my bass, or even if I decide to use a keyboard controller, where or how does that connect to the laptop?

In relation to the start fo the topic; you dont nescesarily trigger your synths with your bass, its the (in theorie) incoming audio signal that is converted by neptune/ thor combi to a midi clear midi signa that you can route to other sytnhs.
A plain keyboard however will jsut plug into your usb port; Reason should recognize it and your ready to go.SoundCloud/ Osmose-music - Facebook/ OsmoseSounds -

I'm pretty sure it can be done using Thor's matrix.. I don't play guitar, so it's not something I've tried.
I'll give it a go tonight (using a Subtractor cv out) to trigger midi notes on Thor. Will report back later.
