Can't record notes on sequencer with a MIDI keyboard

hello, the only way that the track's grey arrow will get green input i when I use my PC's keyboard but with any other "musical" MIDI keyboard, although they make the instrument sound, they can't put notes into the sequencer record enabled track...

MIDI in, Instruments plays, but no input notes on sequencer:

Note input on sequencer works with the keys option:

I notice that this happens with the Edirol UM2 midi-usb interface and with the Korg Nanokey2, but not with the Akai EIE pro interface.

I finally discovered where the problem is, for those who might have the same problem:

You need to go to menu preferences- Control surfaces and click on Add, then, if you're using a MIDI keyboard which is not an specific purpose-made Control surface, select <Other>, select for Model: MIDI Control Keyboard. Then, the most important, on MIDI Input click on "find" and play a note on the keyboard you're trying to add, then OK and your keyboard will be able to record notes on the sequencer..

The same applies if you're trying to select an specific Control Surfece device as the korg Nanokeys2...
