    just an idea i've been kicking around for a few days .



    i think i need some help with placing the bass in the mix

    Kicks and bass sound rather distant, might be due to reverb.
    And you could try notching out some in the 300-400hz range on the bass

    I like this. Very nujabes. Might i recommend cutting up the rhythm on the bass?

    yeah man this did help, i remembered i "mixed" this on earbuds and not on monitors and thats where i went wrong.
    i've got a vocalist recording on this soon so after that i give it a proper mix.

    Aah ye, earbuds are pretty **** to mix on..
    But, i know Graham from the Recording Revolution has mixed an entrire album on it.. So it can be done though..

    well we are all mixing for MP3 on earbuds this is the sad truth

    But having a flat monitoring response still is the best method. All ****ty listening devices have unique responses, one brand of earbuds will be different from the other.
